A native of the Midwest, Landon Bailey's musical roots run deep. With the help of a guitar collecting grandfather, Landon started his musical journey on the guitar with "four chords and the truth". Immediately hooked, he quickly caught on, eventually adding the electric guitar, piano, bass, and other miscellaneous music making toys to his skill set. Even at a young age, he showed a great awareness, sensitivity, and propensity for all things music. With a vivid imagination and a fascination with melody and rhyme, storytelling and songwriting also came naturally.
Fast forward through a series of musicals, high school choirs, church bands, jazz, folk, and indie bands, he eventually joined a rock band located in sunny Southern California. After about a year of traveling and touring as an electric guitarist, he met the girl of his dreams; a San Diego native named Kellie. They married quickly, and they began their life together writing music under the appropriately titled band name, "the Baileys". Kellie - a musician/songwriter herself - provided soft, sweet, folky tunes led with her delicate, friendly, and inviting vocals, while Landon brought a mixture of finger-style acoustic guitar and whimsical, ambient electric guitar playing to the table.
Landon eventually went on staff at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa to teach electric guitar, lead worship, and manage the recording studio at the School of Worship. While in Orange County, he had the opportunity to travel worldwide, playing at various conferences, music festivals, and events, making great friends along the way.
During that season of musical adventures, his songwriting and creativity really took flight. As a worship leader, Landon started writing songs that were biblical, accessible, and authentic. As a folk artist/songwriter, he kept developing his knack for melodic storytelling.
Currently, Landon is leading worship at Pine Hills Church, located in the Midwest. He has a heart for the local church, as well as for the church worldwide to know and experience God like never before. For fun, Landon enjoys good coffee, thought provoking books, and building forts with his daughter, Fair.
